Apple had a big launch event on September 9. They announced new iPod models and new versions of iTunes and iPhone OS. On September 25 MMS support for the iPhone went live.
Android
September was a busy for Android phones, with Motorola and LG announcing their first phones for Android. Also Sprint will be a new carrier for Android.

- Add Sports Team Schedules, Birthday Reminders, And More To Google Calendars: the sports schedules are great, previously I had entered some events manually or gone to another site to import data - but it's great now that it is built-in.
- Gmail Outage Marks Sixth Downtime in Eight Months: I feel pretty lucky that I didn't need to look up some important information while Gmail was down - it just goes to show you how much importance is placed on web-based services these days.
- Google Chrome Turns One: A Few Questions and Answers: I can't believe it's only been one year, it feels like I've been using Chrome for so long already.
