Apple
- Apple Updates Snow Leopard, Possibly Disabling 'Hackintoshes': On the one hand, it's perfectly within their right to drop support for the Atom processor, and it's probably easier for the development team that way too. However, it would be nice for Apple to reach out to their underground enthusiast community.
- iTunes Preview Makes Direct Music Links Slightly Less Annoying: I am so grateful for this - I hate waiting for iTunes to launch, so I never want to click on iTunes links. Also when I am on Linux I can't open those links - now I can.
Twitter
- Twitter and LinkedIn Status Updates Are Now Synced: Seems like a smart move. I think the headline "Twitter, LinkedIn team up for self-promotion free-for-all" was really funny though.
- TwitterPeek: The World's First Twitter-only Device: Not sure how many people on the planet who use Twitter don't have another device that can access Twitter - but the lifetime service plan could make sense IF all the underlying technology doesn't become obsolete in a few years. Which it will, of course.
- Verizon's Droid Eris offers Android for less: On the heels of the Droid, the Droid Eris is another Android based phone for Verizon.
- Dell unveils Android-based Mini 3 smartphone: Interestingly, they are targeting China and Brazil initially - which makes sense given the lead in other markets with the iPhone, BlackBerry, and other Android devices.
